Sorry everyone for taking such a long time to post on Livejournal. It has been a very busy 5-month establishing eden cafe on Club Street. Some of you that came, mentioned that I have not been Livejournaling... hehe.. thousand apologies, well do it much more often. Thank you so much for the support at eden cafe.

EDEN cafe is born.......54 Club Street

With Effect from 15th May 2007, Helio Café would not be handling walk-in customers and all meals has to be in Made-To-Order. We will still be holding certain events here but majority will be held at Eden Café.
Situated at 54 Club Street, Eden Café will be a sanctuary for many. Out of the food and drinks that are found in the menu, 75% of it will be floral cuisine, dessert and drinks. Items like Hibiscus Cheese Filo, Hibiscus cheesecakes, Osmanthus Crème Brulee, Orchid Pasta, Flora Wine Tea else, these are some of the items that you will find without pre-booking in advance.
However, if you still would like to challenge us to creating special made to order meals, to suit your taste buds we are more then happy to oblige. Of course, I believe those who have ordered such meals will know it has be pre-booked minimum two days in advance.
We will keep all our friends and customers updated on the latest development of this new location. So look out for our latest update.
Thanks for all the support that all of you render, we will see you at EDEN CAFÉ in the near future.

Helio Cafe launch its very own Chocolate label on the 24th of March. From this date till the end of April, customers will get to purchase the chocolate at $1 each instead of $1.50 in May 07 onwards.

Helio Cafe is One year Old...........

Ist of March... time pass by in a Flash and Helio Cafe is One Year old. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my friends, my clients, especially my lifetime Partner Raymond, my nephew Kelvin, and special thanks to dearest Norman, Cheng, Ming, Adi, Chris, Andrew, Matthew, David, and many many more.. special people that holds a great place in my heart for the success that Helio Cafe enjoyed.
In order to thank all those support we got, we will be giving a 50% off our floral fusion tea for any cake purchased from 1st March to 7th March.
In addition, we also created the first seasonal dessert of Helio Cafe which is Vanilla Bombes that comes in Coffee Almond fillings, or Strawberry Bombes with fresh strawberry puree fillings.

MUSHROOM WEEK..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All, we are launching mushroom week on the eve of Xmas.
attached is a pic of the airflown holland Portabello Mushroom specially for this theme week.
The dishes are :
Portabello Pocket which one whole large Portabello Mushroom topped with farm fresh prawns and with goat cheese wrapped with puff pastry and baked to perfection.
Mushroom Wrap is salmon that is wrapped with Japanese mushroom and further wrapped with bacan and grilled
Mushroom Pasta is Pasta that is tossed with fresh tomatoes and eaten with a grilled portabello mushroom that is seasoned with garlic and olive oil.
Mushroom Caviar is a simple portabello mushroom chopped and stir fried with garlic and olive oil. topped on a toasted foccasia bread and served hot.
Hope all of you would like these simple and healthy dishes of mushroom week. However, these air flown mushroom is limited so its while stock last..

Xmas and New Year Dessert

Poached Pear in Red Wine.
These 21 pieces Peckham pears are specially selected and is poached in three bottles of wine mainly Pinot Noir, Camernia, and Cab. Sauvignon. It has been poached with dried Apricots on 1st Dec and soaked till now to get the full favour of the wine onto the pears. Eaten warm with apricots and ice cream.
Xmas Pudding with Vanilla Sauce.
Fruits cooked with 5 liquor, Guiness, Brandy, Whisky, Rum and Cointreau. After which is made into a pudding and is eaten warm with a vanilla sauce.

All that have tasted Strawberry Cheese Filo have been asking me to make it a permanent item. Therefore, we created another new dessert based on the same concept. It is eaten with a Raspberry Sauce.

Its baked Fresh, Its warm.. its Pudding for Xmas.

I think one of the most suitable time to launch Pudding is during Xmas. Let the Aroma, the warmth and the freshness of the pudding warms ones heart and create the perfect Xmas feel.

It is made from our chocolate Brownies Rolled in with fresh Mangos and keeping it own natural taste of chocolate and freshness of the fruits all wrapped within.

Crab Week....

Crab Week starts from 5TH NOV 06
Chilli Crab Pasta – Chilli Crab with Penne Pasta and eaten with sweet basil leaves
Crab Potatoes Gratin – Crab meat, potatoes baked with egg and light cream. Super light and extremely tasty.
Crab Pie Tee – Crispy Pie Tee shells with nice coral lettuce and top up with cherry tomatoes and chilli crab and eaten with dill.
Crab Salad- A mixture of Greens, cherry tomatoes and herbs and dressed with a simple vinegar, lemon juice and olive oil and tossed with boiled crab meat
Cold Crab with dressings – Simple boiled whole crab and is eaten with a special thai dressing. ( only available on Sunday 5th November)
Crab Wraps with Otak – Crab that is wrapped in otak and is placed on fresh veg and covered with rice and further wrapped in popiah skin. It is eaten with a nice chilli sauce.

It is quite a thrill to see Helio Cafe appearing again on the media and this time is Shin Ming Daily News. Furthermore as a teaser on the front page that leads reader to the actual page. I was so glad and happy all day long..hehe..thanks for the continuous support everyone.

Guest Chef for Marina Mandarin Dendrobium Marina Mandarin Singapore

It was a great night for me being an invited Guest Chef for Marina Mandarin Singapore. I was delighted to see some of my ideas and receipes being presented on the buffet table like my Flora Jello, Flora Fondue, and most important my Flora Orchid Pasta which I am doing it on the spot there.
At first, many are sceptical and fearful, but when they start to taste the dishes, they keep coming back and within a flash my pasta was moving really fast. It was quite an experience to be explaining the dish while trying to cook the pasta. I was lucky to have Cheng my apprentice with me to assist me.
The biggest joy i have was to be called onto the front of the stage with the Head Chef Paolo and chef Eric and being introduced as the culinary team for the night. I was so glad but i cant open my eyes to for the photo shoot as there is a spot light shinning at us...hahhaha...
Anyway, it was a nice and wonderful night spend together with Kelvin my nephew, my partner Raymond, and my two apprentice Cheng and Ming. Hope this event will open up more opportunities for helio cafe.

Flora and Tea Jello.

A sampler set has been launch which consist of 4 kinds of Jello, mainly Pu Er Jello, Lavender Jello, Osmanthus Jello and Lily Citron Jello. All the Jello are served with yogurt and top up with either osmanthus flowers or strawberries.
